Hospice directors and trustees
Meet the BDCH directors and trustees
Our Trustees work together to support and guide Bedford Daycare Hospice through its long term and short term objectives, ensuring we stay on track and accountable to everyone involved in what we do.
The Board of Trustees all give their time voluntarily and receive no remuneration for their services.
Donald Parsons is the Chairman of the Trustees for Bedford Daycare Hospice, formally Consultant Surgeon with Bedford Hospital for many years. 'Mr P', as we call him, was responsible for setting up the Hospice 26 years ago in conjunction with the Ibbett Trust. He recognised that there was a gap between patients leaving hospital with life limiting illnesses and being admitted to a residential hospice so the Daycare Hospice was set up in Linden road.
Donald enjoys walking and reading in his spare time and devotes a lot of his time to the running of the Hospice.
Tom was a GP in Bedford for 29 years and previously worked at Bedford Hospital. He has a long term interest in palliative care and is pleased to be able to support the work of the Hospice in caring for our patients. He is married with a daughter. Away from the Hospice his interests include golf, gardening and skiing. He is also a Trustee of Bedford CAB and a member of Bedford Park Rotary.
Nick is a Chartered Accountant and has recently joined the Board of Directors at the Hospice. He has always been most impressed with the work that the Hospice does and the important part it plays in supporting those with life threatening illnesses. He is a Bedfordian, married with a family and in addition to being a keen and often frustrated golfer he sings with the Bedford Choral Society.
Hamilton has been involved in the Hospice for just over 10 years. He likes to help round the hospice whenever he can and is self-employed running a turf care business.
